
Southeast Alaska is blessed with some qualities other gardeners can only wish for; we have abundant moisture, a condition rare in the world, and long relatively temperate summer days, which allows the colors to hold an extended period in our flowering plants. We also have a few conditions that make the horticultural life more difficult, like long cold winters, and a scarcity of good soils.
